SpaceX Starship Explosion: Pollution Concerns.

The Starship Flight 7 explosion released an estimated 45.5 metric tons of metal oxides and 40 metric tons of nitrogen oxides into the upper atmosphere. These pollutants have the potential to damage the ozone layer and affect Earth's climate.

However, scientists are still unsure of the exact amount of pollution caused by the explosion, as they don't know how much of the rocket burned up and how much fell back to Earth. The amount of metallic air pollution produced is estimated to be about one-third of the amount generated by meteorites burning up in the atmosphere each year.

The increasing frequency of rocket launches and satellite re-entries could lead to a significant rise in these harmful gases and particles in the atmosphere. This could hinder the recovery of the ozone layer and worsen the effects of climate change.
